COVID-19 Safety

TO OUR VALUED CLIENTS, GUESTS, INDUSTRY PARTNERS, AND TEAM MEMBERS

In light of the recent outbreak of corona virus (COVID-19), The Chef’s Garden is taking precautions to keep you, your guests and our team safe. We are paying close attention to updates from the U.S. Centers for Disease Control (CDC) and the Florida Health Department. Additionally, we will continue to review our policies and procedures for the purpose of strengthening our COVID-19 response and to further align with updated public health advice and guidelines.

The Chef’s Garden has always practiced daily preventive actions, which include the following:

Signs posted throughout our building with instructions for proper hand-washing procedures.

Team members are required to wash their hands hourly with anti-bacterial soap for at least 20 seconds.   

Team members are required to wear masks at all times, particularly when handling food, packaging and deliveries.

Team members are required to wear gloves when handling food, packaging, utensils and equipment, and deliveries.

Team members have been educated to cover coughs and sneezes and immediately wash hands and reglove.

Team members are required to stay home if they present any symptoms.

Common surfaces are disinfected hourly at our commissary, offices and event venue kitchen spaces.

The Chef’s Garden has been working diligently during the lock-down to come up with ways that we can continue to ensure the safety of our team and our clients when our government leaders loosen restrictions and allow us to serve at new levels.

Phase 1 - Shelter-in-place: 

Our Team at The Chef’s Garden has come up with a new way to serve our clients with numerous meal options and virtual cooking class kits delivered to your door.

All non-essential production team members will work remotely.

Team members are trained to look for signs and symptoms of COVID-19 and required to stay at home if any are present.

Each delivery vehicle has been outfitted with a full sanitation package – including, but not limited to, sanitizer, gloves and masks. 

Before each delivery all door handles, steering wheels, gear shifts, seat belts and center consoles are sanitized.

Delivery drivers will always wear gloves and will change gloves after each delivery.

Drivers will notify each customer when they are en route and adhere to these guidelines as well as any additional delivery instructions from the customer.

 Phase 2 - Loosened restrictions

As our government officials loosen restrictions and allow our communities to open up and gather in small groups, The Chef’s Garden would like to be there with new policies in place for our customer’s safety.

Our Team will continue to adhere to all previously listed policies and procedures from phase 1.

Each member of our team has participated in all relevant Covid-19 Servsafe training for delivery and service.

Phase 3 - A New Normal

When our leaders have deemed it safe to resume large gatherings, The Chef’s Garden will continue to analyze and implement the most stringent safety precautions

All event staff will wear gloves during the entire event, including event setup, execution and breakdown.

Team members will change gloves regularly and after any guest contact.

Passed appetizers will be individually portioned on small tasting plates or utilizing bamboo skewers to ensure no cross contamination between guests.

Hand Sanitizer will be displayed for all guests with clear directions to restrooms for hand washing.

Self serve buffets/stations have been eliminated and each event will be staffed appropriately for full service.

Please know that the health and well-being of our team, our clients and their guests is of the utmost importance to us. We will work individually with each client to maintain these high standards and implement any additional requests.
