  • 2 Ounce Rye Bourbon (Provides a bold, spicy backbone to the cocktail)
  • ½ Ounce Simple Syrup (Balances the rye's spice with a touch of sweetness)
  • 2 Dashes Angostura Bitters
  • 2 Dashes Orange Bitters
  • 1 Orange Zest (Releases aromatic oils to awaken the senses)
  • 1 Bada Bing Cherry (Adds a hint of rich, fruity sweetness, but Bing are slightly more tart then luxardo)
  • Maple Wood Chips (Infuses a delicate smoky aroma for depth)

Instructions

  1. Prepare the Glass:Zest an orange, and rub the zest strip along the rim of the glass to release aromatic oils. Set the zest aside for garnish.
  2. Build the Cocktail:Add the rye bourbon, simple syrup, cherry, Angostura bitters, and orange bitters to the glass. Muddle gently to release oils.
  3. Mix:Add a gentleman's cube or cubed ice. Stir gently with a bar spoon to chill and combine the ingredients without over-diluting.
  4. Smoke the Cocktail:-Cover the glass with the clear disc attachment.-Load the smoking gun with maple wood chips, ignite, and direct the smoke into the glass through the attachment hose.-Let the smoke settle for 15-20 seconds to infuse the drink.
  5. Serve:Remove the disc just before serving. Present the drink while the smoky aroma lingers for maximum effect.

*You can substitute regular bourbon, bitters of your choice, and different wood chips.

*Try making this drink with reposado tequila or aged rum instead!
