  • 2 oz fresh watermelon juice (see note below)
  • 2 oz blanco tequila
  • ¾ oz fresh lime juice
  • ½ oz triple sec or Cointreau
  • ¼ oz agave syrup (adjust to taste)
  • 4–6 fresh cilantro leaves
  • Tajín or salt, for rimming (optional)
  • Lime wedge or watermelon slice, for garnish

  1. Muddle: In a shaker, gently muddle cilantro leaves with lime juice and agave.
  2. Shake: Add watermelon juice, tequila, and triple sec. Fill with ice and shake well until chilled.
  3. Serve: Strain into a glass (rocks or coupe) with or without a Tajín/salt rim. Add fresh ice if desired.
  4. Garnish: Top with a sprig of cilantro, lime wheel, or mini watermelon wedge.

WATERMELON JUICE NOTES

  1. Fresh-Pressed: Chop fresh, seedless watermelon into chunks. Blend until smooth, then strain through a fine mesh sieve or cheesecloth. Store refrigerated for up to 3 days.
  2. Store-Bought: Use 100% watermelon juice with no added sugar if possible. Taste and adjust sweetness—reduce agave if juice is already sweetened.
